Question:

You've just passed your practical test. You don't hold a full licence in another category. Within two years you get six penalty points on your licence. What will you have to do?

A Retake your theory and practical tests.
explanation

If you accumulate six or more penalty points within two years of gaining your first full licence it will be revoked. The six or more points include any gained due to offences you committed before passing your test. If this happens you may only drive as a learner until you pass both the theory and practical tests again.

Related Information

When you pass your test, any penalty points that were on your provisional license but had not yet expired will be transferred to your full license. If, however, you accrue any additional penalty points within two years of passing your driving test, bringing your total to six or more, your license will be revoked. If your license is revoked within two years, you must reapply, pay for, and pass the theory and practical parts of the driving or riding test in order to obtain a full license.

Helping my daughter with the theory side of the test. Only wish we’d found it earlier on! Even I’m learning/getting reminded of what things mean again!
