Question:
Motorways mustn’t be used by pedestrians, cyclists, motorcycles under 50 cc, certain slow-moving vehicles without permission, and powered wheelchairs/mobility scooters.
In the United Kingdom, certain vehicles are prohibited from using motorways. Motorways are a type of highway that is designed for high-speed traffic and they can be dangerous when used by certain types of vehicles. The UK government has put in place regulations to ensure only suitable vehicles use motorways and these regulations apply to all drivers in the UK regardless of their location or nationality.
The first category of vehicle that is prohibited from using motorways includes those with an engine size under 50 cc or unladen weight of less than 400kgs. This includes mopeds, scooters, invalid carriages and powered wheelchairs as well as some other small electric cars which do not meet safety standards required on a motorway due to their slow speed capabilities compared with other cars travelling at higher speeds on these roads.
Another group forbidden from using British Motorways include agricultural tractors which have been adapted for road use but lack features such as seatbelts, head restraints or airbags needed for safe travel at faster speeds. Furthermore, any vehicle without valid insurance, MOT certificate (Ministry Of Transport) or road tax may also be restricted from accessing motorways. In addition, cyclists who often ride alongside busy roads must avoid entering onto a motorway altogether since it would pose too much danger even if they had appropriate protective gear like helmets etc.
Overall, there are several reasons why specific categories of vehicle should not be allowed to access onto Britain's Motorway network including inadequate safety measures; lack of insurance; no valid MOT Certificate; illegal activity etc... It is important that everyone follow the rules set out by authorities to stay safe whilst travelling along busy highways.

Brilliant for the multiple choice bit of the theory. Never looked at the highway code, just went through all of the practice questions in this (free version) over a few hours and passed my test 48/50.
